Strengthening Bonds between Armenia and the Diaspora

By Jeanmarie Papelian, Executive Director

On behalf of our leadership and the staff of ATP I am delighted to share the second issue of Trees for Life which has several articles that I am sure you will find interesting. We highlight several aspects of our work that you may not be familiar with. For example, young agronomy students are conducting cutting-edge research at our Karin Nursery.

We support community revitalization all over Armenia. The article about Aknashen Village explores what that means in one specific community. None of this would be possible without our donors and volunteers. Our ambassador profile highlights the Deirbadrossian family in Los Angeles, who have been proactive supporters in more ways than one.

By now many of you will have received our Annual Appeal and our beautiful new brochure articulating how ATP utilizes your generous donations. ATP is important to the continued survival of Armenia and support of ATP is a good investment for future generations. You may ask, What makes this request for support different from other ATP solicitations? As ATP matures, like our forests and community planting sites, which are monitored and maintained annually, ATP must raise the funds required to sustain the organization.

I thank you in advance for your continued support and confidence in our work. Please feel free to email me at jeanmarie@armeniatree.org with any comments and feedback you may have. You may also reach me at (617) 926-TREE.
